Position Overview:

Infinite Energy Construction is looking for a Construction Superintendent at our North Charleston, SC office. This Superintendent is responsible for coordinating construction activities for multiple concurrent construction projects on Joint Base Charleston that range in value from 25,000 to $1,000,000. The ideal candidate for this position is a well-rounded individual with a strong construction background (ideally experience in several construction trades) with strong problem-solving and people skills, and the ability to focus on the “big picture,”.

IEC is a General Contractor based in Kansas City, Missouri that specializes on federal construction contracts. Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinates and supervises day to day field construction activities on and off base
  • Works with project management on schedule, resource management, and on time/budget completion of all projects
  • Coordinate and work with subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship and on time/budget project completion
  • Ensures all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations are enforced
  • Provide support for projects in various stages of design, estimating, and construction
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine we are following the scope of work
  • Assist with the preparation/maintenance of construction schedules
  • Establish /maintains relationships with subcontractors to enable quick response to solicitations
  • Work closely with the client to ensure their needs are met
  • Prepare, maintain and track necessary documentation: submittals, change orders, daily reports, schedules – all performed utilizing electronic means, primarily
  • Assist with project close out, including as-built drawings
  • Perform SSHO and/or Environmental duties as required, and if certified
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 6-8 years of construction experience
  • Previous federal / IDIQ experience greatly preferred
  • Ability to access and work on a federal military installation (pre-employment background check)
  • OSHA 30 preferred, if not, company will offer the training
  • Valid US Driver’s License / ID that allows access to Federal DOD facilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction industry (relevant codes, safety regulations, etc)
  • Knowledge of Safety regulations (OSHA and EM-385)
  • Knowledge of local environmental regulations
