Position Overview: 

Infinite Energy Construction is looking for a Construction Superintendent at our North Charleston, SC office.   This Superintendent is responsible for coordinating construction activities for multiple concurrent construction projects on Joint Base Charleston that range in value from 25,000 to $1,000,000.  The ideal candidate for this position will have previous Federal/IDIQ/Military Construction and/or multi-trade commercial construction experience in a superintendence role.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent  
  • 6-8 years of multi-trade commercial construction experience  
  • 2 years Federal/IDIQ/Military construction experience  
  • Ability to use a computer and cloud-based software for daily reporting 
  • OSHA 30 preferred  
  • Ability to work on a federal military installation (pre-employment background check required) 
  • Valid US Driver’s License  

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Coordinates and supervises day to day field construction activities on and off base 
  • Works with project management on schedule, resource management, and on time/budget completion of all projects 
  • Coordinate and work with subcontractors to ensure quality workmanship and on time/budget project completion  
  • Orders materials as necessary for projects 
  • Ensures all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations are enforced 
  • Provide support for projects in various stages of design, estimating, and construction 
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work 
  • Assist with the preparation/maintenance of construction, manpower, and other schedules 
  • Establish /maintains relationships with subcontractors to enable quick response to solicitations 
  • Prepare, maintain and track necessary paperwork: submittals, change orders, daily reports,  
  • Assist with project close out 
  • Perform SSHO and/or Environmental duties as required 
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction industry (relevant codes, safety regulations, etc) 
  • Knowledge of Safety regulations (OSHA and EM-385) 
  • Knowledge of local environmental regulations

 Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Main work location will be an active construction site which may include 
  • Working outdoors with exposure to uneven ground, dust, and extreme heat/cold 
  • Working around moving machinery 
  • Occasionally lifting 50 – 75lbs 
  • Wearing PPE 
  • Secondary work location my include an office situation with the possibility of 
  • Repetitive motion consistent with computer work 
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
